Service Description
Many capable students struggle with procrastination, organization, and managing long-term assignments—not because they lack intelligence or motivation, but because they have not yet developed strong executive function strategies. Executive function skills are the brain processes that help us plan, start tasks, manage time, stay organized, and follow through on goals. This five-week Executive Function Master Class helps students build a practical toolkit of strategies they can use immediately in school and everyday life. Through interactive lessons, guided activities, and real-world practice, students learn how to break down complex assignments, manage their time effectively, and overcome procrastination. The course meets twice per week for five weeks on Zoom, for a total of 10 sessions. Each lesson introduces a specific strategy and then gives students the opportunity to apply it to real academic tasks. Students will learn how to: *understand how executive function affects learning and motivation *break large assignments into manageable steps *set realistic goals and track progress *prioritize tasks and manage competing responsibilities *plan their week effectively using calendars and planning tools *organize materials and manage schoolwork more efficiently *monitor their own progress and adjust when they get off track *overcome procrastination and perfectionism using practical strategies This course is especially helpful for students who are bright but struggle with follow-through, including many learners with ADHD, gifted or twice-exceptional students, and other neurodiverse learners. By the end of the course, students will leave with a personal executive function toolkit they can continue using throughout the school year.
